KL
I only stayed in KL for two days but from what I saw it was a very modern city with good public transport, and lots of things to do including night life and shopping.
The Petronas Towers are an amazing view night or day. The park just near the towers is great for a run or a walk. Also the shopping center at the base of the towers is pretty massive.

Reggae Mansion is one popular place to go out and is also a hostel.
