Climbing Mount Rinjani!
This was one of the most challenging treks and by far the most beautiful and amazing trekking experience I have ever had! The first day you start trekking from 600 meters for 6 or 7 hours until you reach the first camp at 2,600 meters located on the volcano rim. The next day you trek down to the lake in the center which is about 1,600 meters and find yourself at some amazing hot springs. Then you continue up to the next camp site also at 2,600 meters. Finally on the third day you climb to the peak (3,726 meters) leaving camp at about 2 am to try to make it for sunrise. Then continue your way all the way down the the bottom that same day.
(Playing with the shutter speed)
(nice bath in the hot springs!)
(Hiking to the top at 2am)
(Just in time for the sunrise!)
(It was so cold at the top I didn't take that many pictures preferring to keep my hands in my pockets)
(Probably the most fun was running down from the top slipping and sliding down the loose gravel like sediments as if we were skiing down a slope!)
