Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is home to the famous full moon party. The island is large enough that you either need to pay for taxis everywhere you go, rent a scooter, or just hang around the area of your accommodation. Driving down the extremely steep and windy roads you will find signs advertising the upcoming parties, which happen every single night. Waterfall Party, Boat Party, Jungle Party, Pool Party, the signs will say. Every night leading up to the full moon party had more and more people at each party until the day that all accommodation is booked. Below you will find Haad Rin, the beach where the full moon party takes place and the street that runs along the beach. I would have loved to do before and after picture but I wasn’t willing to bring my camera to this wild party.

I stayed at Sandee Backpacker where they rented a scooter for 100 Bath for 24 hours (approximately 3USD). When you have two to a scooter this is a pretty great deal since a taxi anywhere on the island will cost you at least 100 Bath per person.

Everywhere you go they sell buckets of liquer, mixer and ice.
